The State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA) - the regulator of China's tobacco industry - held a symposium on fulfillment of the key project of how to increase aroma and keep moisture in cigarette production in Kunming City of southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on July 12.
The symposium was held under the sponsorship of the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in Yunnan - the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer. HongyunHonghe has been designated as one of the 14 institutions for fulfilling this key project of China's tobacco industry. In an address to the symposium, HongyunHonghe President Wu Yi extended warm welcome to Deputy Director Li Deyi of the STMA's Economic Operation Department and leaders and experts from all the 14 institutions designated to fulfill this key project, including Zhengzhou Tobacco Research Institute, Shanghai Tobacco Group, Hongta Group and Hunan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation, and briefed the participants on HongyunHonghe's economic operation over a recent period of time.
According to the agenda of the symposium, four participating institutions including HongyunHonghe conducted technological exchanges on fulfillment of the key project while other institutions reported their work of fulfilling the project in the capacity of enterprises designated to conduct pilot operations for the project.
After hearing reports on technological exchanges and the work of conducting pilot operations, Li fully affirmed the great innovative achievements made by all the institutions concerned in scientific-technological research for fulfillment of the key project. He expressed the hope that all the institutions will take the symposium as a fine opportunity for improvement, and will strive to make greater success in their future work, conduct operations in a down-to-earth manner, and make contributions to promoting cigarette production by China's tobacco industry to a higher level.
